View Full Version : zoom script?
hey all..
i seem to remember finding a script that let me cycle zoom rate up AND down, way back when..
i've still got all my original CONFIG dirs and scripts downloads, but just can't find it.. thnk it may have been called zoom.cs..? nfi who wrote
so yeh, bottom line: anyone got a script that lets me change magnficiation up (as per standard) AND down?
even better: with the mousewheel? i know its probly a straight forward bind (once i have the script), i just dunno the syntax for mousewheel up/down.
CHEERS! :)
ok, so i got impatient, and instead of opening up the vols and finding out wot IDACTION_INC_SNIPER_FOV does (can u do that? i seem to recall u can) and make a DEC_SNIPER_FOV that goes down... i just made a function (CriZoom::CycleBack();...l33t!) that cals INC 3 times :) and it works!
so noowww... mousewheel up/down bind = how?
k, more impatience... mouse0, zaxis0
but zaxis1 (just a guess?) doesn't do anything... and then i remember some shite about not being able to differentiate? :( anyone found a way around this in last 5 years? :)

uhh you know what, i think there is one. it sounds familiar and practical to me, u'd just have to ask more learnered people
ps. the snipe king needs to zoom? :P
wellllll (u did ask)
turns out i like to zoom for longer range shots.. keep mouse movement rate the same. generally at 2x... sometimes at 5x if at edge of visibilty..
but then if i take one of those shots, i have to press z lots (wellll.. 3 times? :)) to get back to 2 for the next time i may need it in the heat of l33t pingwhor- i mean sniping... and that was frustrating :\
so had z as zoom range up (Std..), and now got x as down.. except its a bit fidly with fingers.. so i want on wheely!
except after all that, with range up on wheely (can't get range down yet, as above), its easy enuf to flick i've probly wasted valuable tribes palying time farkin about. i should have at least waited until later tonite (eg now) when servers were dead to look at it.. but it was reallllly bugging me :)
p.s. is there anyway to view the guts of the IDACTIONS? looking at xaxis0 and yaxis0 bindings, the actions must be "directionally aware".. if i can see how those do it, can write a knew zoom range that will go up and down with just the one bind to zaxis0 :)

there is no dinstiction in plain ol' t1 between moving the scroll up or down. you need a 3rd party script or plugin (which i know are floating aroung somehere - try searching tw?)
my feeling is if yaw/pitch action can be made to work with single xaxis/yaxis binds, script can be written - altho, whats the actual difference between actions and commands?
i've had a half hearted look.. will probly search more on weekend... thx :)
