honestly we just dont have the numbers for a ctf ladder of sorts, but we have pugs regularly soooooo.

a pug ladder, since our pug's and teams are oh-so-organised, we could record the teams each night and each member of the winning team gets a point each win/pug. obviously the teams are almost randomised each week there should be standouts, with poeple like eskimofo 10 and assasin 2. making people play harder to get points :) and effectivly play better? muahah. discuss?

[edit] and uhhh extra points for captains :D so we arent struggling for volenteers

I'm always willing to captain... but need more content captains out there who know 99% of the people who play, wellish enough to select teams fairly.

sounds interesting. dont know if a point system would work though.

if you were to do a point system, the way you could do it, is groups. ppl with more points go into a certain group. and each pug team has to have even numbers from that group... so then you wouldnt get like all the top players in one team.. which it has been in some of the later pugs.

group 1 - new players, points 0 - 9
group 2 - 10-29
group 3 - 30-49
group 4 - 50 up

after each game, 3 ppl get chosen from the game, doesnt matter on teams or who won. it all goes on the better players who ppl thought, (NOT HOW MANY POINTS YOU CAN RACK UP INGAME!!!) pretty much, someone who pretty much helped out alot, as in an escorter who WAS always there to backup flag carrier and so on.

captains from the team will nominate someone from the other side. and then 1 person from the entire game is nominated by all players.

those 3 ppl get '5' points each.

the rest would get 1 point each. captain of the winning side gets 2 points.

you have to play all 3 maps to be considered to get 5 points.

there will also be a bonus point system. if someone is playing that has improved alot in the game. and really shines in the pug but isnt chosen for points, he can be nominated to the captains for a bonus point. if both captains agree. this player will get a bonus +2 points.

i also think there should be negative points for ppl who are complete wankers and screw up the pug... =) but thats just me

so yeah, once you get points it will go down on a table for all to see, and when captains make teams for next pug, the groups have to be sorted evenly over the teams - eg : kama and revvy are in group 3, they have to be seperated into dif teams. (i know this aint gonna happen unless someone cuts them at the hip, but we can try) there are 10 ppl in group 2. so 5 in each team. and so on.

what you guys think of that?

pretty much, this should help even out the teams when chosen. and make for more even pugs

i dont like the nomination idea, this community has alot of sheeps and alot of them want to be friends with better guys because they're 'leet' so they will nominate them, where say zee may be crap and he might of played the game of his life but goes un noticed becuse he isnt leet and people dont expect anything from him and his captain told him to repair. its hard to type what im thinking i guess.

its cool eski, revvy and i have talked bout the same problem.

we both see alot of ppl thinking points makes the best in tribes. so they will want to be the best and will complain if not chosen, so there will be winging also.

and also, there will be ppl that are un-noticed ingame, even though they did an awesome job. but were just not really noticed.

thus now im thinking before pugs, one of the admins will select 3 ppl off each team to pick to who they think should get the points. then from there it will goto the captains to pick the final person.

so, it will be only 2 ppl in game who will get the 5points. and there will also be the bonus point.

beedee - i can make a script to do this for us, easily enough.

OR... we just not wrory bout a ladder and just play the game and have to put up with uneven teams if they do happen =)
